Costumer Reviews
I bought 9 of these a month ago. I just ordered 13 more. (They are bright (brighter than the 65 watt reflector incandescent can lights they replaced). They come on without delay, and they do work on my dimmer switches. The light is a very bright white, not yellow at all. They won't go quite as dim as the old incandescent lights but they dim well enough. They look modern compared to my old style can lights. They are air tight which is why I bought them. I had moisture problem in a cathedral ceiling caused by moisture seeping past old style can lights that were not air tight. That is why I bought the first batch. I bought the second batch just because they work and look great, not to mention they use practically no electricity compared to the old incandescent lights. If you have very high ceilings as I do and find replacing bulbs difficult, you will probably be dead before these burn out, (if their packaging is to be believed and I have no reason to doubt them). Lowe's also has these exact same lights but never in very large quantities. With Amazon's free shipping and no tax, Amazon is cheaper. They come with a connector wire and plug that screws into the existing light socket. The "rabbit ear" springs on each side will probably fit most can lights on flat or sloped ceilings. I installed them on both sloped and flat ceilings.
I have a drop ceiling in my room with a 4ft light fixture using those 4 ft. tubes that are 40watt each. I bought 2 of these lights for my room, and they are just as bright as having my 80watt 4ft. light on. My room is about 15ft x 30ft. I don't have a dimmer installed, cause its not really necessary. I was looking at getting a fixture, and led bulbs, but led bulbs alone are $35+, and this I cut the thing that twists into a fixture off, and wired the white and black wires to a 14/2 electric wire, but if you do that yourself you will need wire nuts, and an outlet box with a cover to make everything safe, and legal.
